Owner Occupied Mortgage Relief Program
The Illinois Housing Development Authority (IHDA) has announced a relief program for homeowners affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program is called the Illinois Emergency Homeowner Assistance Fund (ILHAF). It will give up to $30 thousand in aid per homeowner to curb mortgage defaults, delinquencies, and foreclosures.
Applications for the program will open April 11, 2022. To qualify, applicants must have experienced a financial hardship due to the pandemic after January 21, 2020, and must currently own and occupy their home in Illinois as their primary residence.
